My art practice has varied over the years and has focused around my career as an Art and Design educator. I taught Art and Design for many years and Bookbinding locally for a short time in Adult Education, before chronic illness forced me to slow down. I originally trained as a Textile Designer specialising in woven fashion & interior fabrics, and rug design. I love drawing, especially from life and using colour. I also collect objects and ephemera & take photographs. I use my camera like a sketchbook, recording what I see and am inspired by.
Ill health makes it difficult to produce much work consistently, but I keep trying. My current fascination is Bookbinding. Centrepieces gave me the space & time to develop & rebuild my confidence. I also enjoy exhibiting in their exhibitions.
