Joan Scher

I am from the North East and was an ex-tracer in an iron and steel factory, and later a poultry maid in Scotland. I ran a pet shop near Uxbridge and now attend the Salvation Army in Welling. I am very surprised that my work has been so popular. For years I kept painting but it was never really noticed until I met up with friends in Bexley MIND and was encouraged to join Centrepieces where my work is used. I am dyslexic and have mild Tourettes syndrome. Printing is a wonderful pastime and in times of stress and worry I find it quite uplifting splashing around with very bright colours. It’s great therapy.
