My art practice has fluctuated over the years and has mainly been focused around my career as an Art and Design educator. I have taught Art and Design for many years and Bookbinding locally in Adult Education. I originally trained as a Textile Designer first specializing in fashion fabrics and later interiors, through the media of weaving and rug design. I love drawing, especially from life. I also collect interesting vintage objects and ephemera and live surrounded by the finds I have made over the years. This ‘collecting’ habit also stretches to images, which led to a love of photography. I use my camera like a sketchbook, recording what I see and am inspired by. Without it I feel bereft and begin to spiritually whither away. Currently I have started a MA in book arts and I am loving every minute. None of which would have been possible without the support of centrepieces.
