Volunteering

You can join Centrepieces as a volunteer or trustee, either as someone who has experienced mental health issues or who wishes to support the project or gain experience in this area. Volunteers come from a variety of backgrounds. Centrepieces has no paid workers and relies on volunteers to provide its activities, events and administrative and finance support.

At the moment we are looking for new volunteers who would like to help with any of the following:

  • preparing for and setting up exhibitions and events
  • general administration
  • premises management
  • merchandising
  • teaching creative arts subjects to members or planning the delivery of arts workshops and programmes

We do have role descriptions for volunteers, but we are flexible and will create or adapt roles to fit the skills and availability of prospective volunteers. An arts background or experience of mental health issues is helpful but not essential. For more information, read our Volunteer Policy.

We also have vacancies for Trustees to join our board. Trustees are formally appointed for a fixed period of time to contribute to the management and strategic direction of the charity. Meetings are held monthly during the day, usually on a Tuesday or Wednesday. You can find more information here: Appointment of new Trustees.

You can apply to volunteer with Centrepieces by contacting us by phone on 01322 554589 or by email at info@centrepieces.org
