You can join Centrepieces as an artist or as someone who wishes to practice art. This is primarily an opportunity for people who have direct experience of mental ill health, or through contact as a carer, but membership is also open to those who have an interest in mental health and art.
What Centrepieces Can Offer You

Improve Your Artistic Skills and Ability
Centrepieces runs regular workshops to help you develop your artistic skill set. Workshops and art courses cover a range of different disciplines and media, including sculpture, textiles, photography and painting.
Sell Your Artwork
Centrepieces holds open exhibitions and auctions to provide its members with opportunities to sell their artwork.
Volunteer
Centrepieces provides opportunities for participation in volunteering roles, such as administration, finance, fundraising, and project and events management.
Exhibit your Art
We can provide you with opportunities to exhibit your artwork within exhibition spaces in the local community and beyond.
Help Others
We can offer those with a sufficient background in art or teaching a role as an art tutor, to help others develop their skills.
Hire Studio Spaces
We provide affordable studio spaces to our members. By offering a professional environment at an accessible price point, we enable artists to dedicate the necessary time and focus to elevate their practice to the next level.
New Applicants
To apply, please contact Centrepieces by phone on 01322 554589, or email info@centrepieces.org.
The cost of membership is £40 per year. There may be additional small charges for workshops and courses to cover the cost of materials and tuition.
New applicants will be asked to come to our office in The Lodge for a short interview, so that we can make sure that Centrepieces is right for you before you join.
Further opportunities (CIO Members)
It is possible to become a member of Centrepieces’ Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) with voting and other rights as specified in Centrepieces’ constitution, but without use of our art resources. Most CIO members are already involved in Centrepieces in some other capacity either as an artist or volunteer.
Please contact us by phone or email if you are interested in becoming a CIO member.
