Membership

You can join Centrepieces as an artist or as someone who wishes to practice art. This is primarily an opportunity for people who have direct experience of mental ill health, or through contact as a carer, but membership is also open to those who have an interest in mental health and art.

What Centrepieces Can Offer You

Improve your Artistic Skills an Ability
Centrepieces run regular workshops to help you develop your artistic skill set. Workshop and art courses cover a range of different disciplines and media, including sculpture, textiles, photograph and painting.

Exhibit your Art
We can provide you with opportunities to exhibit your artwork within exhibition spaces in the local community and beyond.

Gain Confidence and Self-esteem
We offer our members the chance to create art and socialise in a supportive friendly enviroment.

Sell your Artwork
Centrepieces holds open exhibitions and auctions to provide its members with opportunities to sell their artwork.

Help Others
We can offer those with a sufficient background in art or teaching a paid role as an art tutor, to help others to develop their skills.

Receive Communications about New Opportunities
Centrepieces issues regular newsletters about upcoming workshops, courses and events.

Volunteer
Centrepieces provides opportunities for participation in volunteering roles, such as administration, finance, fundraising, and project and events management.

New Applicants:

To apply, please contact Centrepieces by phone on 01322 554589, or email info@centrepieces.org.
The cost of membership is £40 per year. There may be additional small charges for workshops and courses to cover the cost of materials and tuition.
New applicants will be asked to come to The Lodge for a short interview, so that we can make sure that Centrepieces is right for you before you join.

Further opportunities (CIO Members and Friends):

It is possible to become a member of Centrepieces’ Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) with voting and other rights as specified in Centrepieces’ constitution, but without use of our art resources. Most CIO members are already involved in Centrepieces in some other capacity either as an artist or volunteer.
Becoming a Friend of Centrepieces entitles you to regular updates and information about Centrepieces exhibitions and other events.
